How Hexxagon Works
What the board looks like...
The Hexxagon board is, as you may have guessed, hexagonal. Your player is the ruby jewels, and your opponent is the marbles. You start off having three pieces each on the board, and the first chance to make a move, which you can do by clicking on a piece.
When you click on your piece, you are given two choices. You can "duplicate" your piece onto any of the green squares, which creates additional pieces on the board, or you can "jump" your current piece to any of the yellow squares.

But BEWARE! Moving within jumping range of an opponent, like I just did, can (and will) result in your opponents piece "capturing" your piece!
But don't worry too much, because you can do it too. Here we can see two marble pieces being 'turned' into rubies.
Continue through the board, capturing as many pieces as possible, while giving up the smallest number of yours. Aim to turn squares that are surrounded by many marbles, as this will turn large numbers into rubies in a single move.
Remember not to be discouraged if you don't win your first couple of games - Hexxagon is a hard game to complete, and it can take a bit of time to work out exactly how to beat the computer. But don't give up - it's really worth it when you win one! |
